Go Brrr, a retailer specializing in open-source hardware accessories for Bitcoin self-custody, has introduced the Krux Signer, a pre-flashed DIY Bitcoin transaction signing device based on the TZT CanMv K210 Vision Module. This compact hardware features a 2-inch 240x320 capacitive touchscreen, laser-engraved anodized aluminum body, five physical buttons, a 2MP GC2145 camera, and measures 57 x 41 x 16 mm. It arrives ready-to-use with Krux open-source firmware from selfcustodykrux, housed in a custom 3D-printed protective snap-lock enclosure. Krux is working to innovate with affordable Kendryte K210-based devices, turning them into air-gapped signers compatible with coordinator wallets like Sparrow via QR codes, SD cards, or thermal printers for offline PSBT signing and mnemonic management with encryption options. As they state, "Krux is open-source firmware that enables anyone to build their own Bitcoin signing device via off-the-shelf parts." This addition expands accessible, verifiable self-custody tools, allowing technical users greater control over private keys without reliance on proprietary hardware.

Fold Holdings, Inc., the publicly traded bitcoin financial services company founded in 2019 by Will Reeves, who serves as CEO and chairman, outlined they forward-looking strategy in a customer letter emphasizing bitcoin as the tool for long-term family savings and financial agency over speculation. In 2025, Fold rebuilt its infrastructure, including a redesigned credit card program in partnership with Stripe and Visa, expanded bitcoin services nationwide through a federal trust bank charter via BitGo with bankruptcy-remote custody and $250 million insurance, and integrated bitcoin into mainstream retail at Kroger and Steak ’n Shake. For 2026, the company will make its platform free by eliminating Fold+ subscriptions, offer zero-fee recurring buys and paycheck conversions, launch a no-annual-fee metal credit card earning up to 4% back in bitcoin, expand retail partnerships, and focus on family-oriented tools like joint accounts. "We are simplifying Fold and returning to first principles," Reeves wrote, positioning Fold to support the generational shift toward bitcoin as a functional asset for American households.

The CLAUDE.md guidelines, inspired by Andrej Karpathy's recent observations on LLM coding behavior, offer developers a structured schema to mitigate persistent agent shortcomings when using models like Claude for programming tasks. Karpathy, in a widely discussed X post, noted that while agentic coding has surged in his workflow from 20% to 80%, models still "make wrong assumptions on your behalf and run with them without checking," overcomplicate solutions with bloated abstractions, fail to seek clarification on confusion, and alter unrelated code. A four-principle framework, authored by Forrest Chang and directly derived from Karpathy's insights, counters these by mandating explicit reasoning before coding, strict adherence to minimal viable solutions, precise surgical edits that preserve existing structure, and transformation of tasks into verifiable, test-driven goals with looped verification. As Karpathy emphasized, "LLMs are exceptionally good at looping until they meet specific goals and this is where most of the ‘feel the AGI’ magic is to be found." Developers can install Chang's framework via Skills CLI or by curling the raw file into projects, yielding cleaner diffs, fewer over-engineered implementations, and proactive questions that enhance individual control and reduce rework in development.

Lorraine Marcel, through Bitcoin Dada and Dada Devs, is carving out vital space for African women in Bitcoin development, where underrepresentation has long created barriers of belonging and confidence. Bitcoin Dada delivers education via virtual and in-person channels, while Dada Devs provides targeted training, mentorship, and project incubation focused on Bitcoin and Lightning Network solutions tailored to African contexts. Participants have built minimum viable products slated for February launches, and two engineers secured full-time Bitcoin roles in 2025. A physical collaboration hub in Kenya is now fundraising for a late-February opening. Marcel, quoted in an article by Frank Corva, said, “Representation really matters. People often look for spaces where they can relate to those around them.” Seasoned contributors like Lisa Neigut (Nifty Nei) and Amiti Uttarwar highlight the role of mentorship in retention, while developers including Satsie insist contributions should be judged purely on code merit. This work expands access, strengthens Bitcoin’s global developer base, and advances practical, community-driven financial tools that promote broader individual sovereignty.
