ARK Invest’s Q1 2026 Bitcoin Quarterly, titled “After The Fall,” frames the quarter as bearish price action masking bullish on-chain signals. Bitcoin closed March at $68,215, down 22% and below all three major support levels — the 200-day moving average at $90,613, the short-term-holder cost basis at $82,767, and the on-chain mean at $78,039. Yet conviction buyers accumulated aggressively beneath the surface, growing holdings 69% from roughly 2.13 million to 3.60 million BTC, a level not seen since 2020. US spot ETF balances held nearly flat at approximately 1.29 million BTC through the entire drawdown, signaling institutional holders did not capitulate. Two versions of FISA reauthorization that would have expanded warrantless surveillance of Americans were blocked in a late-night congressional session, according to Rep.
